Executive appointment boost for regions
A NEW senior executive has been appointed at Cairns and Mackay airports to look after the purse strings.
Mark Hope is Queensland Airports’ chief financial officer.
NQA chief executive Norris Carter said Mr Hope would lead the finance and corporate services team with responsibil- North new ity for all financial, legal, procurement, information technology and human resources activities.
“This is a new portfolio which brings together into a single team several corporate services functions that were previously separate,” he said.
“This approach will foster effective collaboration within NQA to serve our passengers, airlines and airport tenants, so that we can grow the airports in a way that’s economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.”
“Mark brings with him over 20 years’ experience gained in a career that has included senior roles at Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), APN News and Media and Queensland Government.
“His experience includes chief financial officer roles in both the private and public sectors. The past seven years have been in the transport industry in Queensland, leading teams with a continuous improvement and partnering focus that have delivered with the business significant operational achievements.”
Mr Hope said he was excited to be joining the NQA team.
“I know how important the Cairns and Mackay airports are to their regions and I am looking forward to working with the NQA team, business partners and stakeholders to deliver NQA’s strategy for sustainable growth and economically benefit these regions,” he said.
He starts on February 12.
