THE former Qantas Airway manager that oversaw the Frequent Flyer program will take over as chief executive of a pet care retailer and veterinary services group.
Simon Hickey has been named as successor to Greencross chief Martin Nicholas.
Greencross chairman Stuart James said Mr Hickey could help build the value of Greencross’ customer data and its rejuvenated loyalty programs.
He brought with him a “significant understanding of complex competitive business environments and a track record of delivering improved customer experience and driving commercial outcome,” Mr James said in a statement.
Greencross has a network of more than 130 vet clinics nationally and owns the Petbarn pet care chain among other businesses.
Mr Hickey worked at Qantas for about 10 years, including stints as Qantas Loyalty chief and the head of Qantas International.
He left in 2014, then joined student accommodation group Campus Living Villages as chief executive.
Greencross also said yesterday that it expected to post a 9 per cent lift in revenue for the six months to December.
The Brisbane-based group’s first-half results are due on February 20.
