Brisbane’s swipe at Buford poor form

-

THE Brisbane Bullets can’t use Perrin Buford as a scapegoat.

The Bullets took a swipe at Buford (above) earlier this week in announcing the American had been released at his own request to “pursue opportunities in Europe”.

I heard they did something similar last year with Jermaine Beal. We are not buying it again. I just do not understand it. Bullets coach Andrej Lemanis is a thinking man, he wants to get players that fit his scheme of things, his style of play and he does it his way.

Why would you keep a player all season that you were bumping heads with all the way back from the NBL Blitz?

If I was Perrin, I would be angry too.

Somebody needs to be angry with all the losing Brisbane are doing.

From what I have seen, there has been no fight, no yelling and screaming – the Bullets just seem OK with it.

Buford wants to go to Europe – and rightfully so when the Bullets are not making playoffs.

“It had become obvious over the last week that Perrin was no longer committed to the team, and the situation had become untenable,” Bullets general manager Richard Clarke said in the press release.

Clearly, at 16 points and eight rebounds a night, Buford was the Bullets’ best player.

On the other hand, Stephen Holt has struggled for the Bullets all season and has been making free money all year.

The Bullets are now in line to finish with the wooden spoon.
