Thursday’s Social Shoot starts at 8.15 a.m. Tableland Company of Archers Visitors who attended the coaching session with George Neislon were Dave & Judy Harland, Kane Bassett, Jett Farley, Tao Franks and Michael and Jemma Denigen on Sunday last. Five senior members and two juniors shot club rounds in near perfect conditions. A general meeting was held after the shoot. U14Boys Recurve: N Prince 579 Next Sunday February 18 members will shoot the first round of their Target club championsh­ips. Practice 9am, shooting starts 9.30am. Beginners need to be on time at 9am as the coach is participat­ing in the shoot, at Kerribee Park Archery Range, off Springs Road, Mareeba. Visitors are asked to ring to confirm attendance. For further informatio­n please phone George Neilson on 4092 2228. Mareeba Rifle Club The Mareeba Rifle Club shot a 2 X 700yd comp. on Sunday the 11 th February 2018. The conditions seemed good, however some of us struggled. This week the Mareeba Club hosted a number of visitors, some who were attending the CIDRA (Cairns and Inland District Rifle Associatio­n) meeting and two other local visitors. Allman 116.6, John Anderson 105.2, S. Kidner 90.2. Sunday, February 18: Double 500 yards, weather permitting. 9am muster, 9.30am start. General meeting. Mossman and District Rifle Club Shooting conditions on Saturday 27-1-18 were once again near perfect, Clear sighting conditions along with very minable mirage and very slight change in wind conditions. A group of Seven shooters shot at 400 metres with mixed results. With three shooters in F Class with one visitor and two in Target Rifle with a new shooter. The clear winner on the day in all classes was Wayne Waslh Cairns,57.3/65.2 122.5 followed by Rick Mischlewsk­i Target rifle 49.2/51.3 100.5. In F class Wayne shot F open 122.5 followed by Carl Read and Norbit Schmidt. First time shooter Ashley Edge Mackay using a .222 scoped ten shot rounds 34/34 68 of a possible 126. Nick tried his hand at target rifle ( peep sights using a sling and jacket) for the first time ten shot rounds 31/23 54 of a possible 105. Next shoot, Saturday 17th February 1.15 pm at the 600 metre mound. All visitors and guest shooters welcome.
