THE British Academy Film Awards went back to black yesterday to support the Time’s Up movement. It was left to mixed textures and expensive accessorie­s to up the ante on the red carpet at London’s Royal Albert Hall. THE British Academy Film Awards went back to black yesterday, but that did little to dampen the event’s typical regal glamour.

With most of the room donning the colour to support the Time’s Up movement, mixed textures and expensive accessorie­s upped the ante on the red carpet at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Queensland’s Margot Robbie complement­ed her pleated Givenchy Couture gown with a classic make-up look with products that make-up artist Pati Dubroff said cost about $290.

Rachel Weisz, who shares the same stylist as Robbie, opted for head-to-toe shimmer topped off with Harry Winston diamond earrings and ring, while Angelina Jolie, who was accompanie­d by human rights activist Loung Ung, wore custom velvet Ralph & Russo.

Allison Janney, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in

said there were “opportunit­ies for more complex and interestin­g roles”.

“I’m excited about Margot (Robbie) becoming a really important producer,” she said.

“I think it’s only going to get better and better.”
