Tough love to curb crime
YOU have to be cruel to be kind.
This is my sentiment when it comes to juvenile crime. Sure, we have to be security conscious, but in a decent society one shouldn’t have to hide their keys.
When the culprits are caught, don’t give them suspended sentences, but give them at least one-year detention in a boot camp, where they are under strict discipline teaching them respect and responsibility. I would give a jail term to their parents to teach them responsible caring for their children.
I also would make them pay for the damage their children caused, even if that means selling any luxury items like mobile phones, TVs and sound equipment.
