Visitors’ hands of friendship

By Amber Rossow-Fraser, Year 5, Holy Cross School

VISITING us at Holy Cross we had the amazing students from St Andrew’s College.

On a Friday morning after assembly we went into Ms Judd’s classroom.

We had three Year 9 students from St Andrew’s and two staff from the middle school. They showed us the timetables for their classes.

The principal of the middle school year level also took us through a Powerpoint display of the senior middle school students from when they went to the Great Wall of China on a school trip.

The oval is huge, it’s like four footy fields. We got to also ask questions about what it’s like in middle school at St Andrew’s.

St Andrew’s also have different levels of maths classes.

These are for the advanced students, then they have middle classes and lower level classes which are for the kids who don’t exactly get the maths curriculum.

After all the students asked questions, the middle school student leaders talked about what they love at St Andrew’s.

Kynan in 5C recalled, “that two of them started at St Andrew’s in Grade 7 and they were welcomed and included.”

At the conclusion I gave a speech, saying “thank you for coming and telling us all this interesting information about your school.”

Afterwards I went and showed them around the school and a lot of Year 6 students came up to them. And welcomed them.

This really was an awesome experience.
