THE irrepressible Troy Haines – of Cairns innovation hub the Space fame – was visiting Darwin recently to help the city lift its tourism appeal.
He attended the Tourism IdeasFest, a one-day ideas hackathon event at the Wirraway Business Centre at Darwin International Airport.
Up to 70 people took part in the day which was facilitated by Mr Haines.
The small business and entrepreneur nurturer was inducted into the Queensland Government Innovation Wall of Fame for his work in building the Far North Queensland start-up and innovation ecosystem.
Tourism is a $1.8 billion industry in the Territory, and one of five key sectors in the Northern Territory Government’s 10-year Economic Development Framework.
