Life in the country is the appeal for buyers of popular foodstore

-

FAR Northern residents considering a career change or looking for a rural lifestyle are in the sight of the owners of a longstanding rural business.

Dimbulah Foodworks owners Shane and Debbie Jordan have listed their Glynn St store for $300,000.

Mareeba Property Office agent John Falvo said there was plenty of potential for the grocery store.

“The growth of Dimbulah is not slowing and there has been a good influx of new farmers and farmers expanding their holdings,” he said.

“I think it’s a growing little town and the number of workers Dimbulah will need in the future mean the money should come through the town in different ways.

“It’s a good little business for a local but they’ve got to be prepared to do the hours.”

Dimbulah Foodworks is open seven days a week and provides a range of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as hot meals made to order.

Renovations this year have added a fresh new look to the store. Seafood is also available on a seasonal basis and the store has loyal Lotto Club membership.

Mr Falvo said Mr and Mrs Jordan had worked hard to cater for the local community by changing store opening times during the agricultural picking season.
