Hannan 36pts R/Up J. Johannsen 33pts. Perfect Autumn weather greeted this weekends field at Royal Millaa Millaa for the Malanda Meat Co’s 4BBB Stableford draw for partners. It was the return of the prodigal son though that shined the brightest. We welcomed back our former jet junior, Justin Cifuentes to the fold. Drawing Arran Smith they tore the field to bits carding a whopping 51 points. That’s an average of 2.83 per hole. Great golf. Second place went to Richard Sullivan and Ray Marsh with a very respectable 49 points. Sols even shanking a ball into Ray to encourage more of an input. A gaggle of 45’s followed but all golfers enjoyed a great comp, and many thanks to Gary and Laurel and the MMC team. NTP’s 1/10 Warrick Howarth, 5/14 Bruce Hunter, and 9/18 Ciffy. Captain Bob had a hard time pronouncing Ciffy’s name at presentation. To encourage more Lady golfers, MMGC with Golf Qld, is holding a ladies golfing clinic Saturday 19th May. If you are a golfer or would like to be, there will be expert tuition from the Far North’s best PGA instructors, clubs available and carts. Just come along, learn and enjoy. Be at the clubhouse by 12.00pm for the clinic followed by a mini competition / social golf at 1.30. This is an open invitation to all to participate in our fantastic sport regardless of experience. If you are currently a golf widow, you cant beat em, so you might as well join em. Next weeks comp is the Malanda Bakery 4BBB Stableford, but this time, pick your team. Wednesday Sporters May 9th was a Stableford with a great field of 36 players. Winner backing up from last weeks great round, to win with 30 pts was Brian Hughes. R/up Harry Wood 28pts on countback from Peter Hilder. NTPs 3 M. Conolly. 13 B. Hughes. 18 nil Least putts jackpots with two on 14 putts. Wednesday sporters play a s/ford on 16/05/18. Thursday 10/5/18 the ladies played a s/ford event. Winning YET AGAIN was Sandra Watson with a great 42 pts, with Annette Seawright r/up with 40 pts. Pin shots went to 11 & 18 Lyn Morrisson and 13 Marea Mead. Friday 11th May Chook run winner on 15 pts was Brendan Clark (with a last hole chip on birdie) On countback from Jackson Clark. Saturday 12/5/18 we played for the Turner Shield sponsored by the ShedBoss. Winning with 41 pts was Robin Beck, with Sandra Watson r/up with 39 puts on a c/back to Dawn Faulkner. Pin shots went to 3 Annette Seawright, 11 Lyn Morrison and 18 Sandra Watson. Next Thursday is a flag event sponsored by Shelley Broadley and Saturday is the Harold Nasser Memorial Shield sponsored by the BV Hotel, stroke. The men had a great field of 56 players.
