Hey Richard (WP, 26/5) kids are not the only ones that eat at KFC. Kaye, Gordonvale Re:Bruce Sharles on proposed Woolworths at Trinity Beach (WP, 26/5). Where’s the local councillor on this, having two -bob eachway, or looking for a way to say it’s a state government problem? Local, Cairns The Greens have become so anti-Australia that it’s hard to trust a traffic light that changes to green. Scotty, Gordonvale Re: the number of speeding fines handed out in school zones (CP,22/5). There seems to be a misunderstanding that motorists do this deliberately. I think not. I am concerned that the problem is really a lack of recognition that motorists are entering a school zone and hence travel at the normal 50 or 60 km/h speed. Instead of railing at the motorists for speeding, investigate the reasons why. Motorist, Cairns Re: attacks on KAP party over feral pig hunt (WP, 26/5). Good old social media, the refuge of the friendless, the clueless and the gutless. Andy, Herberton The Cairns Taipans have had a cleanout of players/coaches. If the team doesn’t make the playoffs this coming season does the boardroom get a clean out too? Taipans member, Cairns On Peter Ridd, I thought we had free speech, it’s obviously only if you are from the left. Perhaps JCU should move to North Korea. Richard, Edmonton Re Jack (WP, 26/5). Australia is a secular country courtesy of the constitution (s 116). If you take your moral cues from whatever God you worship, that’s great ... just don’t inflict it on the rest of us. Atticus, Cairns Re: Painted graffiti fence in Kanimbla ordered to go. At last this eyesore is gone and justice has prevailed, albeit at snail pace. The law has prevailed and hopefully a lesson has been learnt. Terry, Kanimbla
