LOVE brought Max Petrovic to Cairns but a helping hand and good old-fashioned hard work is helping him establish a presence in the IT industry.

Mr Petrovic started Maxx Tech Solutions in March with the help of the Federal Government’s New Enterprise Incentive Scheme, which provides payments to help fledgling businesses get established in the first 12 months.

The difference in his startup is that he will answer calls around the clock.

“I had been working in IT for seven years full-time and met my partner online and moved to Cairns to start a new life,” Mr Petrovic explained.

“I moved from the Gold Coast and I thought it was a good opportunity to open an IT business but run it in the way I know it’s got to be run.

“It’s not that there is not a lot of IT businesses up here but there’s not a lot of 24/7 mobile techs or who offer a service to come to you any time.

“It’s just me at the moment and I’m working pretty close to full-time hours. I’m looking at franchising the business in the future and building up local tech branches all over the city.”

Mr Petrovic, who is steadily gathering business and educational clients, will also supply loan laptops or computers if repairs take a while.

Most of the work he is doing at the moment involves ridding devices of viruses or clearing hard drives to enable quicker operation.

A website for Maxx Tech Solutions is under construction and the business’s Facebook page is now up and running.
