The weather certainly didn’t hamper the keen golfers over the weekend. On Saturday the Police Shield Matchplay Final was played between Tarnia Wright and Shane Soper. It was a fine battle between the pair through out the game, Tarnia held her composure to edge Shane out of the competition on the 17th Hole winning 2up with 1 Hole to go. Congratulations Miss T 2018 Police Shield Matchplay Winner. Thank you to all players that competed there were some fine scores tabled by all. In the Sunday 18 Hole comp sponsored by the Barron Valley Hotel in Atherton, again the misty rain never hampered play as the small field battled the elements. Prudence Wright has played another personal best game hitting 89 Gross 68 nett to take the win on count back from Shane Soper 83 Gross 68 nett also. Well done Prudence. Wednesday Chook comp tees off from 8.30am each Wednesday. Sunday will see the Club Grade Champions Head down to Gordonvale for the Champion of Champions played over 2 days. Good luck to you all.
