A gateway to sanctuary is up for grabs
THE former Tropical Zoo property at Clifton Beach is back on the market.
Colliers International has listed the multi-zoned piece of land parcel of prime development land at the most northern point of Clifton Beach on the Captain Cook Highway.
The site is also at the entrance to the internationally renowned tourism destination Palm Cove.
Agent Jay Beattie said the substantial 3.92ha property was the last remaining site that provided both uninterrupted highway frontage and an ocean aspect.
He said the 270m frontage on the highway was great for business and “the impressive ocean vista framed the landscape beautifully between Buchan Point and Taylors Point”.
“Benefiting from multiple street frontages and access points, the property is the only remaining multi-zoned infill development parcel appropriately zoned and suited for a mix of outcomes including tourism, commercial and low medium density residential projects,” he said.
“While the property is being sold with vacant possession, existing improvements include several buildings lending themselves to easy conversion, which include administration office, restaurant or cafe and a wedding chapel. The property offers astute and capable buyers the opportunity to secure the last highway-fronting multiple zoned development parcel in a strategic and desirable growth-area location.”
Mr Beattie also said, apart from the size of the property, prospective developers could capitalise on the extensive highway frontage, multiple access points and an extensive coastline aspect for the rear of the site ideally suited to residential or accommodation. He said the vendors were prepared to meet the market.
The site is for sale by formal offer, which closes on August 2 at 4pm.
The Freeman family closed the zoo and sold the property in 2015.
