Stadium sets sail with great new look
REDLYNCH Central Sports Stadium will be back in business next week with a fresh new look when sails are replaced at the popular recreation site.
Owner Charlie Marino said the new sails would be made from fabric sourced from a French manufacturer after “lengthy” negotiations.
Mr Marino said the fabric was made using state-of-theart technology and were vigorously tested to withstand the North Queensland environment.
“While Redlynch Central Sports Stadium has been a focal point on the Redlynch landscape, the deterioration of the previous sails was an eye sore,” he said.
“It is hoped the new fabric will again bring the stadium back to prominence.
“The replacement sails were manufactured in Maryborough and will be installed by Oz Rig Australia over the coming week under the supervision of John Rebbechi, former director of Sail Structures.
“John’s experience within the sail industry will be an asset to the works during this time and we’re all looking forward to a polished finish.”
Futsal games will resume at Redlynch Central Sports Stadium on July 16 with the new season of futsal to begin in September.
The stadium was completed in 2009 and has hosted international and local futsal games in the space.
