Britt in tune with touring life

some would baulk at the idea of three years on the road with a caravan, a dog and an infant, country musician Catherine Britt isn’t stopping any time soon.

The Newcastle singer-songwriter stopped in Cairns for her national tour.

She pulled up stumps for a couple of nights at Big4 Coconut Grove Caravan Park in Woree with her husband James and six-month-old son Hank, who’s been on the road with them since he was born.

“I don’t think we’re going to stop anytime soon,” she said.

“We normally free camp and don’t stay at a lot of caravan parks, but every now and then you have to take a break.”

“We went home for Christmas when Hank was born, then we left a few weeks later and we’ve been travelling around Australia since then.”

Catherine and James have no plans to stop touring on the road, at least until little Hank is old enough to start school.

“We just rented our old house out so we can’t go home; we’re officially on the road,” she said.

Catherine will kick off her national tour in Cairns playing tonight at the Reef Hotel Casino from 8pm with songs from her upcoming new album Catherine Britt & The Cold Cold Hearts.
