WHAT THEY SAID FROM CANNON PARK

-

Race 1 – QTIS Two-YearsOld and Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap (1250m) Sagre’s Point for trainer John Manzelmann and jockey Wanderson D’Avila “She has been going good and probably should have won last start at Oak Park,” Manzelmann said. “She was a little bit unlucky in the straight last start and I told Wanderson that he just needed to give her clear running and she will do the rest today.”

Race 2 – QTIS Two-YearsOld and Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap (1250m) Misprint for trainer Alwyn Bailey and jockey Braydn Swaffer “He has been placed against some good horses,” Bailey said. “The win was always on the cards, it was just a matter of when it was going to come and thank Christ it was today.”

Race 3 – Class 2 Plate (950m) Al Hamees for trainer Danielle Massingham and jockey Manabu Kai “He was on the bit the whole way, he never really settled,” Kai said. “I would think he can go the 1250m.”

Race 4 – Handicap (1400m) San Amaro for trainer Roy Chillemi and jockey D’Avila “His form before his last run at Oak Park was good, he has won here before,” Chillemi said. “He won a good race in Townsville the other day but he did not like Oak Park for some reason.”

Race 5 – BM70 Handicap (2100m) Barwon for trainer Rodney Miller and jockey Kirk Stone “He has won over two mile and we have been riding him forward because he does not have that sprint,” Miller said. “I told Kirk to get behind them this start and ride him like the best horse in the race and he did. He rode him enormous.”

Race 6 – BM70 Handicap (1250m) Crimson Halo for trainer Chillemi and jockey Nathan Day “I think that distance is too short for him and he will go better over further,” Chillemi said. “His form down south had him running over further. “I think he is a horse that can win a few more races.”

Race 7 – Class 2 Handicap (1250m) Sonic Swish for trainer Edward Snelling and jockey Jeffrey Felix “I would like to thank the Cairns Jockey Club,” stable representative Jan Snelling said.

Race 8 – Class 3 Plate (1500m) Binary for trainer Janel Ryan and jockey Robert Thompson ”It was a sweet ride from Robert,” Ryan said. “He saved his best for last today.”
