Shootout win one to savour

AT THE recent Far North Queensland Schools Futsal Titles, schools competed for the prestigious bragging rights of being the best futsal teams in the region.

Our team played in the under-8s division, where we had to play teams from the under-9s because we were too talented!

The FNQ School Futsal Titles were held in at the Redlynch Central Futsal Stadium.

The organisers said that there were teams from under-7s all the way to an open division.

On the day, our team made the final with the Redlynch State College team.

They played an excellent game.

We couldn’t be separated after normal time or extra time! It went down to a nailbiting penalty shootout!

Our team managed to get the goals to win the final!

It was a real family week at St Andrew’s.

In our team, most-valued player Max Mulholland was a great defender and his sister Isabel won the under-9s division with her team.

This was the same for Jackson and Brooke Jones, who were also combined under-8 and under-9 champions.

We had a great time representing our school and doing our team managers and coaches proud.

We would like to thank Patrick King, Alysha Cope and Martin Ainsworth for doing a great job organising the two-week carnival.
