Cairns on everyone’s real estate to-do list
CAIRNS’S tropical property market attracts the attention of southern homebuyers and property investors for one reason above all others, according to real estate guru Tom Panos.
Mr Panos was in the city yesterday for a Cairns Post real estate seminar, held at the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino.
The Sydney-based real estate coach and founder of Real Estate Gym told the Cairns Post that the region was on the radar of an ever-growing number of purchasers, with value on offer being it’s main selling point.
“I’m not an expert on regional markets but, at a top level, what I can tell you is that there are many buyers who simply love Cairns,” he said.
“The value for money versus the rest of Australia is incredible, with what you get in this part of the world in terms of climate, facilities, infrastructure and, increasingly, the way the airlines are operating.
“I’m seeing that a lot of the big-end Australian businesses are constantly eyeing Cairns as an area to be broadening their infrastructure.”
The seminar itself was focused on real estate marketing and how the most successful selling agents differentiate themselves from the standard in the industry.
“With lots of properties on the market, you need to make sure you don’t just rely on the buyers coming to you – you have to go out and find the buyers,” Mr Panos said.
“Ultimately, we spoke about how we’re not in the house business – we’re in the people business.
“The real estate agents that don’t just rely on sending emails and automation, but are actually out there talking with consumers and adding the most amount of value are usually the people that win in the marketplace,” he said.
Twomey Schriber Property Group sales consultant Billy Clarke was one of the 150 local real estate and sales professionals who attended the event.
He said it was “exciting” to have a real estate expert like Tom in town to share their professional advice.
“I will take away a lot from today,” Mr Clarke said.
“The scripts and dialogues Tom shared will be big plusses for me.”
