Adventures at camp best birthday present
Lara Cooper, Year 5, Redlynch State College
IN WEEK 3 this term, Redlynch State College classes 5D and 5E went on camp to the Holloways Beach Environmental Education Centre.
When we got to camp we had a big warm welcome from the teacher and then we all got to check out our cabins.
My cabin was called The Fish Tank.
My name is Lara Cooper and I was very lucky to have my 11th birthday on camp.
I have low vision and I can’t see things from far away but I can see things up close. On the bus I sat next to my friend Sierra and she helped me to get on and off the bus.
On the second day of camp we went on a boat.
That was my favourite thing because we went croc spotting, bird watching and set up crab pots. We caught fish in a drag net. My boat was the only lucky one that got a crab in a crab pot.
Later that day we went on the mud-pit experience.
The mud was very squelchy and disgusting but I loved it. It was awesome.
On the last day of camp we went on the high ropes.
It was really fun and really high.
I didn’t care that I couldn’t see well because I can do anything.
Thanks to my teachers Nancy Johnstone, Barbara Odell and my friends for helping me on my adventure at camp.
I may have a vision impairment, but nothing can stop me.
