Saturday and Sunday we host the Atherton Golfview Estate open where we have more than 140 players, still some Saturday 7-7.40am times available. WHAT a fantastic day greeted players at the Millaa Millaa Golf Club on Sunday and a field of 28 players took advantage of the weather and turned in some great scores. However, there can only be one winner of the Falls Teahouse and Malanda RSL monthly medal and for August the men’s winner was B. Peacey with a 66 on a countback from Bruce Hunter. The ladies’ winner was A. English from B. Clifford. The big winner of the day was K. Dixon with a foot from the pin T shot to take the $300 eagle’s nest on 1/10. The Silver Fox was dirty because he was already inside the magic circle only to be pipped at the post by Keith who won NTP on 8/17. Young Tony Lattimore was nearest on 5/14 and Barb Clifford was the ladies winner on 6/15. The course is in wonderful condition and we are expecting the turnout to be just as big for the Yungaburra Butchery trophy day next week. See you there.

Dave had the men’s longest drive of the day. Ladies’ longest drive was Prudence Wright. Welcome back, Prudie, from Peninsula Golf in Kingaroy. Congratulations to all who played and thank you to our sponsors. Wednesday (1/8/18) chook comp had a good field chasing the chicken. Winner was Anne Heinneman winning the least putts, runner-up Russell Bathe. The chook comp is run every Wednesday, teeing off from 8.30am. Hire clubs and buggies are available from the clubhouse. This is a great introductory game should anyone want to have a go at golf. New members are welcome to join. This Sunday’s 18-hole comp is the Summer Cup sponsored by Ravenshoe Millstreatm Country Club. It is the Canadian foursome format so you will require a partner. Registrations close at 9.15am for a 9.30am tee off. Thank you to those members who attended the information session run by president Kate. Some interesting history of the RMCC from its humble beginnings to the present is being compiled and shared at these sessions. The course/greens are looking fantastic. Gav and his volunteers, under the guidance of greens director Danny Bradley and Brandon from Atherton Golf Club are doing a great job.
