Pick a winner off the track

FROCKS with the lot and suits that hit the spot.

Our 50 Best Dressed online Cairns Cup racing gallery showcases some seriously fashion-forward people.

Will you be able to pick who is worthy of the title of “best”?

Head to www.cairnspost.com.au and test your fashion eye.

The best dressed will receive two tickets to the Melbourne Cup Luncheon on Tuesday, November 6, valued at $280.

Take fashions on the field judging into your own hands — I bet you’ll either be inspired or, if you’re anything like me, in awe of the imagination and planning that has gone into the outfits trotted out this year.

Last year’s inaugural Cairns Post 50 Best Dressed gallery was a huge success and almost caused a meltdown on our website.

The gallery of photos taken on Ladies Day at the Cairns Cup received almost 100,000 page views within 24 hours of uploading.

Bluewater resident Rachel Wilson won the competition with her striking green and navy ensemble garnering 127 votes.

She hadn’t gone to the races for about six years before the Cannon Park meet. What a return to trackside. There was fierce competition but she eventually pipped Khalia Pepper (107 votes) and Mel Ford (88 votes) for the bragging rights.

The Cairns Post is a big supporter of racing in the region both on and off the field and we’re in for another treat this weekend with the second Cairns Cup instalment.

If you haven’t put your outfit together yet, head to our website for how it’s done best and while you’re there pick a winner. Editor Jennifer Spilsbury
