Re: Electricit­y charges would go down dramatical­ly if the service fees were reduced or removed. On our last account we paid $85.81 in service fees, for what? And $17.73 meter service charges.

After September 1, those over the age of 60, who receive Centrelink benefits will be forced to “work for the dole”. Most of us in that age group have worked and paid tax all our lives. It seems many unscrupulo­us employers and businesses could access “volunteers” or “free labour”. So why does our PM keep stepping on the elderly’s toes?

In light of the traffic solution problem at the Red Beret Pub, the local councillor­s at the Cairns Regional Council seem to be looking at problem and one end of Redlynch, but forgetting about the ridiculous and continuous speeding on Redlynch Intake Rd near Redlynch Valley Estate. With regular complaints been put towards the council still nothing has been done or achieved in four years.
