A 46-UNIT development in Cairns North is already attracting plenty of interest from developers and builders.

Knight Frank agents John Lynch and Matt Carless are helping to market 8-16 Short St which will go some way to providing housing stock in an extremely tight local property market.

“Very few residential developments have been completed of late and the available stock for new residential units is at its lowest,” Mr Lynch said.

“However, developers and builders now have a unique opportunity to secure a recently approved site with approved plans, ready to start.

“The site occupies five separate lots totalling 2275 sqm and is located on the corner of Short and McLeod streets.

“This location is ideally positioned midway between the Cairns CBD and Airport, only a short walk to the Botanical Gardens and Edge Hill fiveways.”

The development comprises two and three bedroom apartments, which Mr Carless said were “designed to exceed all modern standards”.

The application includes the amalgamation of all five lots into one title.

“This property would be an ideal project for developers to build and sell or hold for ongoing rental income,” Mr Carless said.

“There is very limited stock of new residential apartments on the market and thus this project would be in high demand for end users.”

Expressions of interest are to be submitted from interested parties.
