Life of Riley for earlybirds
Room upgrades come with initial bookings
CRYSTALBROOK Collection’s first run of guests have scored free room upgrades as an early-bird offer at the new $130 million Riley hotel.
Bookings for the former Tradewinds Hotel opened yesterday with first visitors coming on November 6 and room prices starting at $209.
Riley will be the city’s first new five-star hotel built in more than 20 years, paving the way for Crystalbrook’s two remaining hotels Bailey and Flynn to open next year.
“Riley is all about living in the moment and embracing the now,” the company said.
“Expect a nod to environmentalism, in-room Apple iPads complete with healthy living apps, Staycast by Google Chromecast for video streaming, access to hundreds of complimentary movies and box sets and Nespresso machines (naturally with recyclable pods).”
The booking website warns guests there will still be “light construction” between November 6 and December 20.
Pool facilities will be open, but the recreational pool nearest to the Esplanade and Eleme Spa will not function until December 20.
The new hotel will eventually have three restaurants focusing on different cooking styles.
Paper Crane will open from November 6, dishing up “the tastes of Asia” inspired by Far North ingredients.
The remaining two restaurants will operate from December 20. Greenfields will focus on simple, raw and healthy cuisine, with Rocco dishing up modern Middle Eastern flavours.
Crystalbrook hosted a wellattended recruitment drive on Saturday in an effort to find 150 workers in time for Riley’s unveiling.
