A YAPPY OUTCOME

DOG SAVED AFTER BRUTAL ATTACK:

- DANAELLA WIVELL

KATE Pritchard and her dog Nanna have a real life superhero.

A mystery man, known only as Simon, saved 11month-old Nanna’s life on Thursday when she was attacked by a stray dog in Manoora.

“The dog jumped right on to her and started biting at her rear, hind legs and shoulders. I started to yell, punch and kick at this dog but it was so strong. It would not let go of Nanna,” Ms Pritchard said.

“As I was struggling to free Nanna, this burnt orange ute quickly parked and this man ran out of the drivers seat and went straight for the brown dog, quickly getting it into a headlock.

“I just sat on the ground sobbing while trying to calm my girl down. Simon continued to wrestle this dog and finally placed it in the back of his ute.”

Ms Pritchard said Simon went above and beyond by calling the pound to collect the dog and passing it to council officers before leaving to pick his kids up from school.

“If Simon did not come help me, I can honestly say that my puppy would’ve have been killed by this dog. I would have been seriously injured and broken hearted,” she said.

Ms Pritchard searched high and low to thank Simon.

After spreading the word on social media, she now has Simon’s contact details.

“I wanted to thank him properly and to let him know that if he wasn’t so selfless and brave that the whole situation could’ve ended up much worse than it did,” she said.

“We ended up getting into contact with him through the pound. We’ll probably end up buying him a slab of beer in true Aussie fashion.”
