Sunday’s Yungaburra Butchery stableford winner was Mick Fleming 41pts, r/up Des Riggs 39pts on countback from Jay Fraser; NTPs 11 G. Thompson, 13 Swifty. In the Higham Building Group men’s matchplay final, Hollywood Flynn defeated Shane Dodds 4 and 3. Well done, Hollywood, and many thanks to Simon and Kristy for sponsoring this event. This week Wednesday sporters play a 2BBB stableford, Thursday ladies a bisque bogey by C. Costa, Friday Trinity Petroleum six-hole chook run, followed by finger food and goose cub draw at 6.30pm, including jackpot joker $1200 (must be at least a social member to win jackpot). Saturday juniors play a two-ball ambrose, members and visitors play the Choices Flooringsp­onsored monthly medal stroke. Sunday Tableland Top Meats stableford. September 15, we host the Police Charity Cops and Robbers Ambrose where we have a full field. Mossman Golf Club’s Tuesday Par Event was won by Stephen Warden with + 6, in 2nd was Rob Cooke with + 3 and in 3 rd was Rick Herschell with + 3. Wednesday’s Nine Hole stableford event was won by Rod Donovan with 22 points on a C/B to James McInnes in 2 nd with 22 points. NTP’s – Ray Bennets on 10, Jules Foster on 13, Ron Smith on 17. Thursday’s Ladies Stableford Event was won by Shirley Carney with 40 points, 2 nd Jeanette Arnold with 40 points and in 3 rd Pris Freeman with 39 points. NTP’s – Carly Jack on 6 and 8, Trish Landy on 10, Shirley Carney on 13, Lisa Smith on 17. Friday’s Nine Hole Sporters Competitio­n was won by John Newham with 23 points. NTP’s – Neil Foard on 6, Wayne Baxter on 8. Saturday Mossman Golf Club held The Great Northern Cup. 2 Ball Ambrose Event. The day was a great day with 38 Teams competing. The event was won by Ralf Middel and Pris Freeman with 62.75, in seconnd Elijah and Bernie Boon with 64.5, in third Leigh Stevensen and Justin Heron with 64.75, in fourth Russell Jeffery and David Budge with 65.25 and in fifth place Bernie Jack and Errol Glynn with 65.75. NTP’s – Elijah Boon and Alison Wylie on 6, Geoff Goodwin and Julie Jorgensen on 8, James Crozier and Pam Sinclair on 10, Ralf Middel and Ann Dollard on 13, Ralf Middel on 17. The 1 st and 2 nd place winners receive an invitation to the Carlton United Brewery Ambrose. Event later this year. Mossman Golf Club Hosted the Caravan Park Challenge on Sunday. This was also an Ambrose Event with the Wonga Beach Caravan Park Team coming out Winners for 2018. The Sunday 18 HOLE competitio­n was won by Leon Baker with 38 points. JUNIORS - The Club is hosting free beginner’s clinics each Tuesday between 5pm – 6pm for youngsters aged 6 – 15 years. For details call Lisa Smith 0400668209. MOSSMAN GOLF CLUB MILLAA MILLAA GOLF

A MORE perfect day for golf you couldn’t ask for — slight breeze, warm, slightly cloudy, and the course at Royal Millaa Millaa is looking spectacula­r, with lots of run. We had a great turnout for the Paul Foster trophy day, par event, with good scores coming in. Men’s winner was Beorn Peacey +7 only just beating Graham Murray on +6. Ladies’ winner was Marg Azar, +4, rejuvenate­d after returning from her trip around the Greek Islands. NTPs went to Trevor Warrener, Joy White, Ray Marsh and Graham Murray. Next week is the RSL/Falls Teahouse monthly medal. Don’t forget to register with Ross Heidke for the John Cole open weekend on Saturday and Sunday, September 15-16. EVERYONE enjoyed the Ravenshoe Hardware ambrose day, proudly sponsored by David and Linda Hooper, Robert Niven and their Home Hardware team. Overall winners of the day was team Raylene’s Daycare, comprising Danny, Raylene, Emma and Luke Bradley with a great score nett 55. Runner-up was team PrudyBuckW­right” of Gav and Prudence Wright, Dawn Irvine and Mick Buckley on nett 55.37. Second runner-up was team Sure-Can Electrical. Men’s longest drive was taken by visitor Matt F.; ladies’ longest drive Emma Bradley; men’s NTP went to Clayton Dalgety. The Bradman’s team was Kidner’s Contractin­g, Johnny, Blake, Charlie and Cricket. Thank you to Ravenshoe Hardware for its generous sponsorshi­p. To all who helped over the past week and on the day, whether it be on the course or in the clubhouse or driving the drinks cart, your time is greatly appreciate­d and certainly made the day run smoothly. Last Wednesday’s chook comp had a good field chasing the chicken. Eventual winner was Rod from Kidner’s Tyres, runner-up was Russell Bathe. A reminder the chook Comp tees off each Wednesday from 8.30am, nine holes for $10. Hire clubs/buggies are available from the club house. The course is open all week for social players, green fees are $10 all day. Sunday, September 2, is the 18-hole monthly medal comp, teeing off at 9.30am. This Friday night is a Fathers’ Day dinner night. All dads who attend will receive a gift. Raffles will be run throughout the night up to 8pm.
