On Kuranda Range

-

The obvious need to fix the Kuranda Range issue is right under your noses. It’s been proposed by the public for years to open up the rail system. Rail the freight up and down the range, trucks pick up freight from designated areas. Simple. Yes, it’s going to cost to get it working but it will keep the trucks off the road and maybe it could work for commuting. Skyrail could look at commuting people to and from Kuranda. Better than spending millions on a bridge between the beaches. Buzz, Mt Sheridan The Kuranda Range has acquired some extra-wide centre lines – for safety. But still no pushbike lanes, so pushbikes should be banned – for safety. Scotty, Gordonvale bullying going on in the CFMEU and his Fabian socialist mates. Shane, Kanimbla Naomi Osaka was the best player on the day and fairly won the US Open. She was poorly treated and the booing spectators should be ashamed of themselves. Sandra, Mt Sheridan. Re: Lionel Siongco (CP, 11/9). I have seen security guards pouring out alcohol from the glass of an older, white male in a wheelchair and what I assumed to be his daughter, also white. The reason being is alcohol is forbidden on the Esplanade for the enjoyment of all. Racism has nothing to do with it. Beth Kanimbla To retire and have adequate funds is not hard. Work, don’t waste your money on every new trinket or supposed must have. Buy the house you can afford. David, Holloways Beach Re Woz and Mic and the islands of trash (CP, 11/9). One guy with poor navigational skills and both with minimal research skills do not negate the fact that we are killing our environment with garbage. Salty, Redlynch Mic, Cairns (CP, 11/9). Just Google Pacific Ocean rubbish gyre photo. Sean, Clifton Beach We are told by governments to save for our retirement. People buy taxi licences to sell when they retire. Government lets Uber in. No compensation to cover their outlay set by government. Seems like Labor is as bad as the Libs. Grey Ray, Holloways When full-time council bureaucrats can’t figure out the rules for collecting rubbish from creeks (CP, 11/9) you know it is time to start deleting regulations instead of constantly making more. Miss T, Tolga Senator David Leyonhjelm is right about the Greens being racist (CP, 11/9). The cultures that buy live sheep want to slaughter them their way. Imposing the Aussie-greenie moral prism on those cultures is the definition of racism. Mic, Cairns Atticus (texts, 11/9) is living a sheltered life if he thinks the refugee flow is irrelevant. What an outrageous thing to say. Just ask Western Sydney or Melbourne residents how they are embracing the cultural diversity lefties keep pushing on us. It’s a disaster. A higher crime and assault rate and a loss of Australian culture. The Cane Cutter. Edmonton.
