THE possibilities are endless for two lots in the heart of Edmonton.

The current residential sites at 24 and 26 Hartill St are about 5431sq m and would be perfect for a childcare centre, multiple retail or commercial units or a subdivision.

Income from the tenants is $580 per week and the site is in walking distance to the Edmonton town centre which includes a primary school, IGA, fast food outlets, hotels, doctors, dentists, a pharmacy and a childcare facility.

The designated future Edmonton town centre is adjacent to the site.

“The owners’ preference is to sell the two properties together in one line but offers for the separate properties will be considered,” Ormbsy Realty property consultant Bruce Holmes said.

Cairns Regional Council’s new plan for the Edmonton town centre is based on the award-winning design of the Rouse Hill Town Centre on Sydney’s urban fringe.

A council report also determined the Edmonton Town Centre outdoor mall design could bring increased shopper activity to the southern corridor and persuade retailers to open for longer hours due to higher foot traffic associated to a 24-hour centre.

Cairns Southern Corridor is a major new urban growth area and will ultimately extend through to the Mt Peter area.

Edmonton Town Centre is estimated to serve a trade area population of about 80,000.
