MGB (CP, 1/10). Where did you get the idea that former PM Turnbull was anything other than a full-on lefty? Turnbull’s appointee, former ABC board chairman Justin Milne, publicly stated that he thought it was OK that “the ABC leans to the progressive side of politics”. But it’s not OK. The ABC’s charter prohibits bias, but everyone at the ABC ignores the charter, including its board. Higgs, Tolga MGB Kanimbla (CP, 1/10). Your comments about all ABC board member appointed by the Liberals is just plainly wrong. For a start, one board member is appointed by the staff of the ABC. Miss Alberici as ABC chief economics correspondent not knowing the difference between a company’s turnover and their profit speaks volumes about the problems ABC find themselves in. Paul - Common Sense, Cairns How ignorant are Bill Blackmore and Patrick Hooper views on our so called Australia Day (CP, 1/10). People that have been here for thousands of years brushed aside for their narrow minded and obviously racist views. The US had the understanding to call their annual holiday Independence Day. Realist, Cairns The money grab by Queensland Labor Party by Bryan Buller (CP letters, 26/09). A must read. We don’t want another casino on our waterfront. Minister Kate Jones go back to Brisbane. You’ve had your free trip to America and Michael Healy Labor MP your letter in CP doesn’t fool us. Don, Earlville Great to hear from Sky’s Paul Murray that Australia won’t be giving the UN the $400 million they are demanding for their climate boondoggle. Come on, ScoMo, now quit the Paris climate accord and end renewables subsidies and give yourself a chance to win next year’s election. Mic, Cairns Yes, Paul Murray, most people feel that Labor and Liberal are just wings from the same chook. We want people who put Australian’s first over the policies of the party. I do not believe though that the Greens are the answer as they are nothing but obstructionist. Beth, Kanimbla Eye spy gecko species. But I have got gecko’s up the walls of my unit but they like to eat small insects & spiders. Janelle, Woree Recent vegetation fires burning at Walsh River has government fire department advising residents to leave. Who is going to extinguish any spark when you’re not there? Could be the difference of saving your abode or not. Be aware and ensure separation from surrounding vegetation. Bryan, Kuranda
