I had no idea, but I am not surprised at Rita Panahi’s editorial. I have often wondered if the lunatics are running the asylum and it not only looks like they are, but are well entrenched in their positions. Universities should stick to teaching and stop all this mind manipulation. Thank you Rita for exposing this nonsense. Beth, Kanimbla Patrick Hopper blames the multinationals for blatant rip-off. More money in their pockets and you people blame every one else but them. Grey Ray, Holloways Beach I’m inquiring if Cairns Regional Council uses the weed-killing product in public areas. I haven’t seen workers using masks. Marnie, Cairns Shark nets are cruel, they have the ability to kill baby whales. Massive filtered rock pools, like in Darwin, are intelligent and provide the only safe exclusion zone, between humans and Mother Nature’s predators. They are also way more intelligent than billion-dollar footy stadiums, Bunnings Star Wars movie studios or another stupid casino. Rex, Edmonton How can the Reef be “vying for a place in the seven wonders of Australia” (CP, 9/10) when our best reef scientists have told us it is dead and the UN says it will be gone completely in 22 years’ time? Surely scientists and the UN can’t be wrong? Miss T, Tolga So the sea level is rising. It’s been doing that since the end of the last ice age. E. Nuff, Edmonton BOM is again predicting 4 cyclones to cross the coast (CP, 9/10). They said that last year and there was only one - little category one Nora on the Cape that caused no deaths or injuries and almost no damage. Woz, Parramatta Park Thanks, to the kind person who found and returned my phone and wallet fully intact from the shopping trolley. I wish I could thank you personally. Thankful Geoff, Freshwater
