Top CBD site up for grabs

- PETER CARRUTHERS peter.carruthers@news.com.au

A LEASING opportunity in the heart of the Cairns CBD ahead of a November move-in date has already generated strong interest from mixedbusiness retailers.

The stand-alone building on the corner of Sheridan and Spence streets is undergoing a complete refit after new owners snapped up the property earlier this year. It is expected to be ready for tenants on November 1.

Rob Macfarlane of Knight Frank is now looking to secure tenants, with three leases available in the building.

A floor space of 170sq m is available, divided between three shopfronts.

Added flexibility is on offer by joining two shops into one. The corner lease has a floor area of 105sq m.

“You would struggle to find a more prominent corner in Cairns that offers such strong exposure and signage for retailers in the city,” Mr Macfarlane said.

Located directly opposite the Citi Central office tower and close to the Cairns Courthouse and several other government buildings, the property has a high flow of pedestrian traffic. Leasing rates are subject to negotiation.

Mr Macfarlane has received strong interest for the corner tenancy and has received mixed interest from servicebased retailers as well as professional office groups who see the advantage of being close to the courthouse and surrounding government offices. For full details on the leasing opportunity and to arrange an inspection, contact Rob Macfarlane at Knight Frank Cairns on 0409 636 943 or 4046 5330.
