Servo pumped about new look

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 10 2018 THE Caltex service station at Portsmith has reopened after a temporary closure and now has the emission control product Adblue on tap.

Two weeks ago, the fuel distributi­on centre closed its doors to facilitate the erection of a new canopy that covers driveway fuel pumps.

Caltex IT manager Ryan Oliver described the old canopy as being slightly run-down and it had not been replaced since the fuel stop was first built.

Mr Oliver said the new canopy had not escaped the eye of regular customers.

“The regulars he said.

“They have been complement­ary, as it was a bit of an eyesore.”

The Draper St servo is operated by Tropic Petroleum, which is the authorised distributo­r for Caltex fuels and lubricants in North Queensland.

While the canopy refit went ahead, the business also installed an Adblue bowser.

Mr Ryan said the servo was a popular fuel stop for truckies and diesel sales mad up a large proportion of all fuel sales.
