Mayor should front media

-

LET’S hope a carefully crafted and unusually long press release combined with the added job description of media spokesman for council CEO John Andrejic pays off. The mayor has gone missing in action, not even another Unity Councillor was able to front the media on Tuesday.

Mr Andrejic’s lengthy release talks about “reassurance” and “thorough reports” without ever mentioning costs.

Terrified at having to spend millions of dollars on an already over budget build, the council now boasts of at least four other reports paid for by council.

It seems likely the CRC will manage this inconvenient incident with only minimal expense. However, next time let’s have an elected councillor or even the mayor front the media. I’m positive the experts at Queensland Fire and Emergency Services will respond positively to the council report. Just in case they don’t, perhaps the mayor can find someone elected by the people to front the media.
