Friendly community offers lifestyle to enjoy

-

Krimmer and Roberts families have been in the retirement village industry for more than 20 years – and intend to remain in the sector for well into the future.

John Krimmer and Tony Roberts became friends during their school years, and in the 1990s founded a company that specialised in the management of retirement villages throughout Australia.

They ran the company for many years, but today their focus is on New Horizons Villas Cairns.

New Horizons Villas Cairns consists of self-contained, ensuited and airconditioned independent units connected by covered walkways and set among lush tropical gardens.

Residents of the village will find a community of like-minded people living close to public transport and shops, with a bus stop out the front of the village and Stockland Shopping Centre just across the road.

The village offers a weekly linen service, three fresh meals prepared on-site daily, and a variety of in-house and external acTHE tivities for residents.

There’s a large, comfortable and fully airconditioned Community Centre with lounge and dining areas and free Wi-Fi.

Adjacent to the Community Centre is a relaxed outdoor seating and barbecue area surrounded by attractive, shady gardens. Residents are able to enjoy the best of the Far North Queensland lifestyle.

Tony says New Horizons Villas is one of the best-value retirement villages in Cairns “for many reasons”. “Firstly, our meals,” he says. ”At New Horizons Villas Cairns, the quality of the meals is paramount. Residents are provided with three meals every day, all prepared on site.”

He says the security at the retirement village is another important factor, and helps residents and their families feel safe.

“We have closed circuit television cameras and an auto-lock front gate, complemented by our village managers who live on site,” he says.

“The site managers have also been in the industry for many, many years, and have spent many of those years working closely with myself and John.”

Lastly, at New Horizons Villas Cairns, the rental fee is payable out of the aged pension.

“Our wonderful facilities and services are available for only 85 per cent of the standard Australian single aged pension, and residents are able to use the full amount of any available government rent assistance,” Tony says.

Being a small family-owned and operated business, New Horizons Villas brings a greater degree of focus and attention to their villages, managers and residents.

New Horizons Villas is at 60 Ishmael Rd, just across the road from Stockland Shopping Centre’s great shops and services, which includes a general medical centre, and only a short drive or bus trip from the Cairns CBD.
