A new covered outdoor court completed the upgrade, providing a sun-safe space for classes and lunchtime sporting activities and further enabling practical lessons in all weather conditions. Other specialist sports programs for secondary students include the rugby league academy, netball development program and sports excellence program.
Vocational training is also available at the college in information technology, hospitality, early childhood and construction.
Students excel in the arts at Bentley Park College, with all students studying music in primary school, with instrumental music, band and choir being offered.
In secondary, all Year 7 students experience specialist classes in dance, drama, music and visual arts, as well as manual arts, home economics and information and communication technology, and are able to select these electives in their subsequent years to complement their core subjects.
The college has developed a very strong information technology stream, which provides opportunities for our students to be successful in further study or industry placement in this area. Interest in robotics is constantly expanding, with a lunchtime Junior Robotics Club in the primary sector and an after-school Robotics Club for secondary students. Robotics is also an elective subject for junior secondary students, which will expand into senior secondary in 2019. Each year students also compete in the three annual interschool robotics competitions.
