Retiree’s lotto joy

A CARDWELL retiree plans to share his lotto winnings with his children. The man, who wants to remain anonymous, was one of nine division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3887 on October 20. Each entry won the division one prize of $443,884.30. In addition to winning division one, the man’s unregistered ticket also won division four, bolstering his total prize to $443,923.90. “It will help boost the nest egg and I might spread some of it among the kids,” he said. “It’s a nice little bonus,” he said.

Drum roller theft

Police are investigating the theft of a UHF radio and fuel from a Dynapac drum roller at East Palmerston. The machinery was left at roadworks near Gooligans Creek between 6pm on Friday October 19, and 9am on Monday October 22. Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area who may have seen a vehicle or observed people on or near the roadworks. Boil water notices

TABLELANDS Regional Council has advised that boil water notices for Cassowary, Bellview and most properties in Ravenshoe have been cancelled. But notices remain in place for properties in the Ravenshoe Road and Carrington Road areas connected to the Atherton water supply scheme, those connected to the Millstream and Herberton waters supply schemes, and residents connected to the Ravenshoe water supply scheme. Residents at these properties should boil drinking water until further notice.
