RETIREMENT has led to the decision to sell a growing clothing business in Cairns.

Totally Workwear franchise manager Shane O’Dell said current owners Chris and June Kingsbury had decided to retire while the firm was expanding.

Mr O’Dell said the Bungalow business was “riding on the back of strong growth in the last financial year after the bouncing back of the mining industry”.

He said average growth during the past five years had been 5 per cent, which increased to 16 per cent in the 2017/18 financial year.

A national marketing campaign had generated good early interest in the Cairns franchise, Mr O’Dell said.

Totally Workwear in Cairns occupies about 1000sq m of retail space with a warehouse of about 500sq m at 1/98 Scott St, Bungalow.

Set just off one of the busiest roads in the city, the continuous operation of the store for more than 20 years offers peace of mind for the prospective buyer, Mr O’Dell said.

In 2016, a new lease was signed for five years with an option for another five years.

“The Totally Workwear Group ensures prospective buyers are backed and supported by a dedicated team looking to help you grow,” Mr O’Dell said.

He said the new owners would offer training, business support, national marketing coverage, product information and partnerships with a dedicated range of suppliers including King Gee, Hard Yakka and Blundstone.

The Rockhampton business is also for sale.
