HE’S OFF TRACK

- CHRIS CALCINO

FORMER Bachelor star Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins has been told to pull his head in after risking life and limb on a cane train bridge.

The reality TV heart throb’s Instagram story showed him strutting over the North Johnstone River across the Sir Joseph McAvoy Bridge – an operational cane train rail crossing owned by MSF Sugar.

Kenny Loggins’ classic song Danger Zone played in the background. Cummins earned a reprimand from MSF Sugar general manager of operational excellence Dr Jason Hajinakitas.

“It is very dangerous and should a locomotive approach while he is in the middle of the bridge, depending on the locomotive size, it may have difficulty stopping in time,” he warned.

“Even without the perils of a locomotive walking on the structure it is dangerous.

“A slip may result in him falling into the river. And with the crocs, rocks and snags in that part of the river it is a lifethreatening fall.”

The sugar milling company spends thousands of dollars every year trying to educate people to stay off train tracks – particularly on bridges.

Cummins is believed to still be out and about in the region after visiting Palm Cove, Innisfail, Babinda and Port Douglas in recent days filming for his new TV show, Meanwhile in Australia.
