On other matters

The beautiful photos of wildlife, country, sunsets etc shown daily on page 2 are something to look forward to.

My stomach churned reading Rita Panahi’s editorial today and I still have tears in my eyes. I find it hard to believe, but believe it, I do, that political correctness is placed in higher regard than the wellbeing of children. Race, colour, religious beliefs should not be an issue when a person is being charged with rape, especially that of a child. Where are the socalled ‘women’s groups’ who hound men for frivolous activities when we have young girls being systematically raped and abused? Shame on you for your silence.

Greed, the catchphrase of CA. Overpaid all of them. Not in it to play for their country only for the huge financial rewards. The cheats should have been banned from playing for 10 years.

Bree (CP, 20/10). Your Chinese Yulin Festival is disgusting. My point is some Chinese investors think likewise and built a sanctuary at Myola to show the world how to respect domestic and native wildlife. Unlike our government, who spend nothing to co-inhabit our rainforest with native wildlife and only interested in casinos, football stadiums, art museums, or shrines to themselves.

Woz (CP, 30/10). Trump said on 26/1/17 that he would use waterboarding in fighting terrorism. Nothing justifies torture. Fuses in military bombs include timers to prevent premature detonation. Your “expert” interpretation does prove that the FBI is part of a global conspiracy.

The current drought is part of Australia’s natural cycles, Carmel Murray (CP, 30/10). Look up the 1896 to 1902 Federation Drought - well before the industrial era. Also Dorothea Mackellar’s famous 1904 poem My Country.
