BEACHES TO DAINTREE

-

With reef fishing off the agenda due to the Coral Reef fin fish closure this week, most turned to targeting pelagic species. Spanish mackerel, cobia and trevally have all been in good

Daintree River numbers with poppers over the shallow reef bommies and metal jigs worked on the wrecks producing great results. Quality mackerel have been caught trolling deep lures on the reef ridges. The Cairns Inlet fished well with mangrove jacks, barramundi, fingermark, trevally, estuary cod and blue salmon all taking live sardines and mud herring.
