TB pa­tient treated

A TORRES Strait is­lander is be­ing treated at Cairns Hos­pi­tal af­ter be­com­ing in­fected with tu­ber­cu­lo­sis (TB). Health au­thor­i­ties are now un­der­tak­ing con­tact trac­ing to iden­tify peo­ple in close con­tact with the pa­tient. “Peo­ple will then be tested for TB de­pend­ing on their level of con­tact with the case,” a Torres and Cape Hos­pi­tal and Health Ser­vice spokesman said.
