Chance to take on pole stars
ATHLETE registrations have opened for Australia’s inaugural Pole Sports Championships, in Cairns later this year.
Australia’s best pole athletes will converge on July 6-7 for the chance to qualify for the 2019 World Championships in Montreal, Canada.
Australian Pole Sports Federation President Mikki Rhoades said it will be the first time Australia sends a team to the World Championships.
“We have some incredibly talented athletes here in Australia, but their path to the Worlds has been a difficult one because we haven’t had a national competition before,” she said.
Competition Organiser Lea Guy said the Cairns Basketball Stadium would be transformed into a pole sports arena for two days in July.
Registrations are open in Elite, Professional and Amateur categories, along with ParaPole, Artistic Pole and Ultra Pole.
To compete in the APSC, athletes must be a member of the Australian Pole Sports Federation and must represent a member studio or club.
