GUIDE TO SOFT PLASTICS FOR BARRA AND JACKS

-

WITH plenty of rain and flooded rivers and estuaries, soft plastics and prawn imitations have been by far the most productive lures on barra and jacks.

There are a great variety of options available. Obviously anglers have their favoured lure and soft plastics are no different. Here’s a guide to the most popular and consistently purchased fish-producing styles.

Zman Swimmerz and DieZel MinnowZ: Paddle tail plastics that are made from super tough material to catch multiple fish.

Berkley Hollow Belly: As the name suggests a hollow bellied paddle tail that gives off heaps of vibration and catches fish. Works well in creeks, estuaries and dams.

Gulp Jerk Shads: These soft plastic almost fish-like bait with a strong scent are deadly on all species including barramundi. Ideal in all fishing environments.

Keitech Easy Shiners: A large soft plastic which produces great results in the saltwater and impoundments on big barra.

Squidgy Slick Rigs: Prerigged user friendly product that catches fish.

Zerek or Ecooda Live Shrimp: Both are excellent on all species including barramundi that love them. Available in various sizes to suit all conditions.

Gulp Shrimp: Prawn style soft plastic that catches everything with all the gulp features.
