Officeworks can move into bigger premises next door. David, White Rock What a shame to see the retirement of Julie Bishop, the only competent person in this Liberal rabble. Always composed and standing out like a beacon from the angry bumbling ministers of this current government. I had hoped she would assume the leadership after the election and bring back compassionate policies and propriety to the once mighty Liberal Party. With her retirement, all hope for a rejuvenated party is lost. M.G.B., Kanimbla Heights Family Man, Cairns, the reason MP Crisafulli is now wanting a cull on crocodiles is to protect his family as a croc has been seen in a waterhole he takes his kids too and one that he swam in as a kid, we all need protection from these killers and over 70% of Cairns locals want it too. You are a minority. Beth, Kanimbla If climate change is an emergency according to the UN, why are they not concerned with the hundreds of coal powered power stations being built by communist and non western countries? Bernie, Cairns The sickest joke on the planet … waste management. Matchett, Cairns Paul Freebody (CP, 22/02) is a victim of propaganda. 1. He says imp credits are tax paid on behalf of investors. Wrong! They are company tax paid on company profits. 2. He says this is a retiree tax. Wrong! It is just removing a tax bonus for the rich. 3. He says it is like bank interest. Wrong! Bank interest is gross income, dividends are net after tax. In what world is it fair to give taxpayers money to rich investors or retirees who pay no tax? Trevor, Park Ridge It will be a great tragedy if someone doesn’t make a movie about the Tinnie Terrorists. David, Kanimbla Terry, Kanimbla, not everyone that owns are wealthy. Paid taxes all my life and hoped to be comfortable in retirement. Socialist are screwing that to help the bludgers. David, Holloways Beach
