On other matters

Ita Buttrose for the ABC? She’s 77 and once immersed in that rancid soy-oestrogen solution she’d rapidly dissolve into the socialist groupthink. The fact that lefties like the idea tells you all you need to know. Peter, Whitfield A waterpark for Paradise Park? What’s next? A monorail? A casino? No doubt the gullible people who backed that other fantasy will be rejoicing, led by the shock jock and his LNP mates. Or maybe they have learnt their lesson? Earl, Cairns Tony Fung (Aquis casino) would say jump and council would ask how high? Now Ghassan Aboud, who has actually invested millions locally, wants a favour and council goes all coy. What’s the problem Bob? Concerned Citizen, Manunda Money Matters, (CP, 25/02). Great article on Labor’s tax policies from an independent professional source. Explains in layman’s terms the positive benefits for the vast majority of the Australians. Retiree, Cairns The Banking Royal Commission showed up two things. Banks designed their products to attract customers and customers that are dumb enough not to read fine print. You signed it, you pay. David, Holloways Beach The EU has become Britain’s Hotel California (CP, 26/02) ‘you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave’. Socialism sucks like that, you can vote your way in, but must fight your way out. Woz, Parramatta Park Two St Kilda police officers were beaten up in a brutal fight (CP, 26/02). Victorian police called their attackers “a pack of animals”. Can you imagine that description being used if the offenders were of African appearance? Why not? Skye, Machans Beach Regarding the bullied nurse at Cairns ED. I was recently in the ED overnight and the staff there cop so much abuse I wonder why they want to continue being nurses. There were seven patients in beds and I was the only genuinely sick one, the other six were either high on drugs or blind drunk, but are called psych patients, due to the PC brigade. There were police and security guards trying to protect the staff who were giving treatment. So much for zero tolerance of abuse. It’s disgusting that management panders to these grubs and does not support the staff, who are the true heroes. Beth, Kanimbla For 40 years we’ve seen women shoved into roles, from road-workers to AFL players, which were traditionally male. This was for “diversity” and “inclusion”. But are women happier now? No. Is society better for this remaking? Again, no. This vast experiment has been a failure and it’s the left’s fault. Miss T, Tolga
