On Cardinal George Pell

-

Re: George Pell. He is a convicted pedo- that the government should look to introduce a minimum farm gate price for milk so that this industry in chaos might be able to survive.

Where were they when Howard set the deregulation into motion?

The current LNP primary industry minister told us all that we cannot go back.

So re-regulating the industry is out of the question. Deregulation has failed miserably.

Not so long ago Queensland had more than 1500 dairy farmers all making a fair income for their hard work. The Atherton Tablelands had over 300 farmers.

Now we have less than 350 in the state and less than 50 on the Tablelands.

Only the current Member for Hill Shane Knuth has tirelessly pursued a better deal for the dairying industry and has introduced Bill after Bill in parliament to try and get a minimum farm gate price for milk and hence re-boot this once thriving industry.

To no avail however, as both the LNP and Labor refuse to do anything about it.

It won’t be long and all of our milk, plus other dairy products, will be imported from other countries. Jerry Micola, Tolga South Korea and the Philippines operate or have in construction over 4500 coalfired power stations plus other nuclear plants, many of which depend for their base load continuous electricity on the cleanest burning coal from Australia and our uranium as fuel.

No doubt they are smiling all the way to their banks as they manufacture, sell and ship back to Australia the intermittent and inefficient solar and wind generating systems.

For the future of our children and coming generations, which concerns John and ourselves, our governments must again invest and construct the latest technically-advanced high efficiency low emission coal-fired power plants being built elsewhere.

They immediately also must plan and build the necessary dams providing clean green hydro power while helping to flood-proof our nation.
