Guard in shining armour

-

THE security guards at Cairns Airport have a thankless task, constantly moving on cars so the domestic terminal pick up point is not blocked.

Last Friday night, we saw a different side to the security guards. It was pitch black and raining, and as we drove into the airport to pick up an interstate visitor, we realised that the car had a puncture.

Not only was the security guard courteous and understanding (even though our car was taking up space), when he realised that we were physically unable to change the tyre, he got down on his hands and knees in the rain and changed it for us.

We don’t know his name, but we want to publicly thank him for his kindness.
