FOOTBALL FNQ Football’s grand finalists will face off in the first Far North battle of the FFA Cup.

Edge Hill United beat Southside in last year’s grand final, but the Comets will have a chance to avenge that defeat in the national knockout.

FNQ Football’s grand finalists will face off in one of the first Far North battles of the national knockout, the FFA Cup.

Premiers Edge Hill United will travel to Southside Comets for their highly-anticipate­d third round clash next Saturday, where the Comets will be out to avenge last year’s grand final defeat.

Southside led the decider three times, only for Edge Hill United to equalise on each occasion, then win on penalties.

The tantalisin­g match-up is one of four games drawn yesterday.

Marlin Coast Rangers will host Stratford while Mareeba United will host Leichhardt.

Douglas United, the only first division team in the national knockout, will travel to Innisfail where they meet Innisfail United.

The draws for rounds four and five were also held, to determine which teams will host future rounds of the knockout.

The winner of SouthsideE­dge Hill host the winner of Innisfail United-Douglas Unit- ed, while the winner of Marlin Coast-Stratford hosts the winner of Mareeba-Leichhardt at a later date.

While all FFA Cup games are scheduled for next Saturday, all four of FNQ Football’s Premier League competitio­ns will kick-off this weekend.
