Here they go again with another land gobbling solar farm taking up a couple of hundred acres of good farm land. Makes you wonder how much farmland will be left by the time the renewable energy targets are met. If we built a gas or coal fired power station covering 200 acres it would power the whole state. Andy, Herberton

Ch7 anti-bullying? Surely not considering their show My Kitchen Rules actively promotes bullies as the show’s centrepieces. Koch and Hinch displayed all the traits of bullying behaviour in their interview with Pauline Hanson. Hypocrites. Mick, Edmonton

Just a note. Australia does not have a Bill of Rights that enshrine the right to freedom of speech. All the more reason to

have legislation made up that will ensure we have basic civil and human rights. George, Cairns

(CP, 21/03), “RBA says risks ‘heightened but contained’”. The RBA has done enormous damage to our economy and to the net wealth of Aussies with its incorrect pricing of money. It’s why so many Aussies paid so much more for houses than they should have and why their debt will become unmanageable should reality ever be allowed to return to asset markets. Accountant, Edge Hill

Sheldon, Cairns (CP, 21/03) is wrong about the dangers of hydrogen cars. BMW and others have tested for crash explosion danger and found it to be virtually nil because leaking H2 rapidly rises away from potential sources of ignition. In contrast LPG remains at ground level and is used by our army to create earth shaking explosions. Sean McGinn, Clifton Beach

For Cairns City to compete with other Australian cities as an attractive destination the proposed Global Tourism Hub is essential. The planned location is critical for this development. Would not attract any interest on any other site in the city. An opportunity for Cairns to broaden its appeal as a liveable city and tourist destination, with all the associated employment flow on. Retiree, Cairns City

For a safer QLD, not just Cairns, the current Labor government should be changing current sentencing laws and time in jail. Elida Faith is fiddling about with stupid platitudes; cameras don’t make you safe. David, Holloways Beach

Donald Trump Jr (CP, 21/03) - fact check: True. If Prime Minister May had listened to President Trump, Brexit would be a done deal and a good thing. But ‘Trump derangement syndrome’ is a plague among Western elites. It’s a disease that causes them to shoot their own feet off. Rochelle, Koah
